We had over 100 members registered for the seminar and some excellent questions and feedback. Hyperhydrosis Training and Excessive Sweating Treatments

Humans perspire or sweat as part of the bodies’ regulatory functions. This cools the body to assist with temperature control. For some people the bodies sweat glands over produce which can be embarrassing and uncomfortable. Hyperhydrosis is excessive sweating

Treating Hyperhydrosis

The treatments for hyperhydrosis include deodorants, botulinum toxins and surgery. A medical expert can prescribe strong deodorants or small amounts of BOTOX to temporarily reduce the sweating, or alternatively a surgeon can provide a more invasive option if required.

The deodorants are usually the first option to reduce this condition. The injection of botulinum toxin in to the locality of the sweating is the next approach; this will assist for up to 6-9 months. Surgery is only required in very rare cases, the injection option will usually provide a good outcome for the patient.

The underarms are the most frequent treated site for hyperhydrosis , other areas such as hands, feet and head can also be associated with this condition.

Botulinum Toxins for the Reduction of Sweating

Candidates can learn about excessive sweating and the non surgical solutions when attending the Advanced BOTOX and Dermal Fillers course. The KT Trainings online resources also have a dedicated module to teach the theory of excessive sweating and a step by step video review of the Botox for axillae hyperhydrosis (underarm) treatment. This online module is complementary when you book the advanced botox course. The completion of foundation or introduction courses are required before attending this course.


 

 

BOTOX® approved for treatment of lateral canthal lines (crow’s feet).

The cosmetic use of BOTOX to treat crow’s feet was approved by FDA (US) in 2013 and MHRA (UK) in 2014.

BOTOX is now licenced for the temporary improvement in the appearance of moderate to severe lateral canthal lines (crow’s feet). This marketing authorisation is specific to Allergan’s BOTOX® product.

Crow’s feet lines have been treated successfully “off license” for over 20 years by doctors, dentists and nurses in the UK.

Small amounts of BOTOX can be injected superficially into the orbicularis oculi muscle to soften the crows feet/ lateral canthal lines.

This course covers horizontal forehead lines, frown lines and the crow’s feet to enable clinicians to treat the main indications for the upper face.

The BOTOX® injections have approval for many medical and cosmetic indications. Clinicians should review the products SPC (Summary of Product Characteristics). This document in every box, also check for updates on the manufacturers and MRHA web site regarding licensing and any product development changes.
