The liquid facelift also known as the non surgical facelift is a 1 day course. This includes a full lecture by our expert trainer and practical work shop with patients provided for the candidates to inject under close supervision.

Which products are used for the non surgical facelift course?

The Voluma product is used for this course. This product adds facial volume, structure and lift using the VYCROSS technology by Allergan who created the successful Juvederm Ultra range of dermal fillers. Voluma enables better sculpting outcomes by the injector, and has and extended life compared to ha filler. It is very different from your standard Juvederm fillers used for lines and other facial enhancements.

The injecting techniques you will learn can sharpen features and give the overall aesthetic outcome of a facelift. When adding volume and lifting the cheeks and mid-face, we can re-contour the face and create a more youthful appearance. This treatment will also reduce the nasolabial folds and oral commissure. Voluma is a great non-invasive treatment that can fully enhance your patient’s appearance and is a good alternative to a facial implant or cosmetic surgery.

This course also reviews the Nefertiti lift with BOTOX.

This spotlight is about Dr Sotirios Foutsizoglou- Cosmetic Surgeon who is a lead trainer for KT Training.

The doctor teaches advanced and master classes, including botox, dermal fillers, volumisers and PDO thread courses.

Dr Sotirios Foutsizoglou graduated from Newcastle University Medical School and then completed his Foundation Programme and Core Surgical Training with the London and KSS Deaneries. In addition to his MBBS he also holds a BSc(Hons) in Mathematics from the University of Athens and a MSc in Biostatistics and Epidemiology from the Harvard School of Public Health where he also began his PhD research work. Dr Sotirios Foutsizoglou has been a valedictorian for both his BSc and MSc.

Dr Sotirios Foutsizoglou specialises in Cosmetic Surgery and Aesthetic Medicine. He is the Founder and Medical Director of SFMedica which is based on Harley Street in London. He has featured on various Cosmetic Surgery related programmes on National TV such as “Embarrassing Bodies” and “BodyShockers”. He is on the Editorial Board of the Aesthetic Medicine Journal and has numerous publications in UK journals, magazines and newspapers including a book on “Skin Aging and the Role of Cosmeceuticals in Anti-Ageing Medicine”. Dr Sotirios Foutsizoglou has extensively lectured and presented various topics at national and international conferences, symposia and experts meetings. He is also the senior lecturer in Facial Anatomy with KT Medical Aesthetics Training Group.

Dr Sotirios Foutsizoglou has performed over 6,000 treatments and procedures with outstanding results. He has adopted the holistic approach to the problem rather than focusing on individual lines and wrinkles.

Since January 2014 Dr Foutsizoglou has been collaborating with Lord Alan Sugar and the 2013 Apprentice winner Dr Leah Totton in their new clinic in Moorgate, London.

Dr Sotirios Foutsizoglou is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons (MRCS), European College of Aesthetic Medicine and Surgery (ECAMS), International Society of Hair Restoration Surgeons (ISHRS), British College of Aesthetic Medicine (BCAM), British Association of Sclerotherapists and various other professional bodies and organisations.”

Botulinum Toxin Type A Preventing Complications

In this article we will discuss ways to prevent complications and adverse reactions with botulinum toxin type A for cosmetic use.

Step 1 know your medicines and how they work?

Botulinum Toxin for Cosmetic Use

There are three commercial brands botulinum toxin type Acurrently available. These are BOTOX, BOCOUTURE and AZZALURE. Please note the units and doses are not transferable with the different brands of botulinum toxin type A for cosmetic.

Understanding the mechanism of action is essential before treating a patient with botulinum toxins. This gives the practitioner the knowledge to understand how the toxin effects the neuromuscular transmission and release of acetylcholine. There are currently 22 major drug interactions with the botulinum toxin for cosmetic and a further 347 moderate interactions(1).

Many potential complications can be reduced by understanding the action of the toxin and any drug that have especially relevant effects on this mode of action.

Medicines that interact with botulinum toxins include:

  • Muscle relaxants/anti-spasmodic
  • Anti-histamines
  • Anti-cholinergic (in many cold and flu medicines)
  • Tricyclic anti-depressants

The British National Formulary (www.bnf.org) and drugs.com are a good resource for information about medicines.

Consequently the patient medical history must include questions regarding any medicine the patient has been taking prior to the treatment. The practitioner must identify any potential drug interactions and review further information then provide guidance. Most of all proceed with caution some medicines such as muscle relaxants and anti-spasmodic drugs are deemed absolute contraindications.

How to treat the tear trough plus correct the nose course

“Treating the Tear Trough and Nose Correction is for Experienced Cosmetic Clinicians”

The tear trough (under eye hollows) is one of most difficult areas in facial aesthetics to correct. Factors such as patient selection, injection techniques (combination treatments may also be required). The correct type and grade of product must be addressed to produce successful results. Before attending this workshop clinicians should complete the advanced botox and dermal filler course. During the advanced course you will learn to augment the malar and cheek area. When treating these indications you will also reduce the hollows under the eye.

Minor nose imperfections such as scars and asymmetry will also be covered with these products.

What products do we use for tear trough rejuvenation and nose correction?

The products used for hands on workshop are hyaluronic acid fillers such as JUVEDERM, BELOTERO and TEOSYAL. Candidates will be assessing, and injecting patients, supervised by their trainer.

The main cause for the appearance of under eyes hollows with regards to ageing is the descent of the malar fat pad. We discussed earlier the benefits of correcting the fat pad with a high viscosity dermal filler and the reduction in the tear troughs. Therefor the area can then be corrected with a lower viscosity filler to achieve the results. Product selection and techniques may vary depending on the cause of the hollow, depth and skin condition.
