Botulinum toxins units and doses

The units and dilutions are not transferable with various brands of the botulinum toxins available.

Each botulinum toxin product on the market is different.

Understanding BOTOX(R) units.

In tests 1 unit of BTX is a lethal dose to 50% (LD50) of the mouse species tested.

The equivalent dose of BTX(LD50) for 70-kg adult would be equal 2500 to 3000 units.

Manufactures do not all use the same model as BOTOX(R) so 1 unit of one brand of BTX will be different to another.

Doses as high as 1000 units of BOTOX(r) have been used in medicine to treat cerebral palsy and various neurological conditions.

BOTOX(R) and VISTABEL(R) cosmetic treatments usually require 20-75 units for facial wrinkles.

Always evaluation the botulinum toxin brand and dosing information before use.

Yasmin Khan Managing a Cosmetic Business pt1

The concept of managing a monopolistic business is completely different from managing a private competitive non-surgical business. Monopolistic industries such as medicine do not prioritize customer service as an essential service. In fact these businesses are plagued with poor service. Employees in these types of environment may believe that they are customer service oriented but in comparison to someone who is trained in the private market these individuals lack all awareness of customer service skills. For those who have seen a decline in revenue due to the recession, you may wish to improve your value added services to recapture past customers and to keep your present customer. Details are in my book “Simple Steps to Building Successful Cosmetic Practices

Non-Surgical is a premium priced service and inherent in this price is the assumption that the deliverer of the service is skilled. The reason that few clinics have high retention rate is the assumption that clinical excellence in one procedure makes clinician an expert. The customers want an expert in facial enhancement not an expert in one procedure. This is a multi-disciplinary industry and those who invest the time to learn it will be successful at it.

It is critical to know what the customer will expect of you.

Dermal fillers training who can attend our courses?

KT Training only provide dermal fillers courses for medical professionals.

KT Training DO NOT provide dermal fillers courses for non medical or members of the public.

Recently some new dermal filler training companies have been offering dermal filler courses for non medical and members of the public.

Dermal fillers are medical devices and treatments should be provided by doctors, dentists or nurses who have attended a recognised dermal filler training course and have the medical background to prevent or deal with the complications associated with the dermal filler injectable treatments.

Some of the dermal fillers treatment complications can include anaphylactic shock, necrosis and infection.

UK pharmacies will only distribute dermal filler products to qualified medical professionals who have attended a recognised dermal fillers training course.
